He’s supposed to understand he’s public property, me I’m still private property, that’s why I’m not in Aso Rock,” Soyinka said. He also urged the president and his team, to make his state of health public so as not to compound the problems of the country with the uncertainty of the nation’s leader’s health status. President Buhari has missed the weekly Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting for the last three weeks. He was absent the two times it held in that period and the third (last week’s meeting) did not hold due to the Easter holiday. I try as much as possible not to annoy God by saying I am honest. But with all modesty, I am a honest Nigerian and there are very few honest Nigerians.” On why people keep having the impression that he’s corrupt, Amaechi replied; “When did that impression start? Nyesom Wike becomes the governor. He takes documents from Government house that people cant read, and says oh, we sold Gas turbines and disappeared with the money. He set up a panel of inquiry? Publish the report.” When asked whether he thinks the corruption angle came because he led the campaign organization of President Buhari, “When you talk about the PDP angle, they are bitter that we fought and led the movement against the former government and PDP, and we were successful to have removed them from power. It was gathered that the boy is 18 years old, lives with his grandparents in Egbeda, Lagos while his mum is abroad and remarried with two other children. Lanre, after Opeyemi, dated and married an Igbo policewoman who had also packed out of the house. Meanwhile, Mercy had always said in interviews that she was the second wife. “How can she be the second wife when she is the fourth to bear children for him? He has children from different women and when Mercy had Juwon, Lanre called all his baby mamas that they should bring all his children to come and live under same roof with one another in his house but those women declined. The many responsibilities must have also contributed to his financial misfortune because he is not as rich as when Mercy met him,” a reliable source said. One of the reasons that caused fracas in his marriage to Mercy was infidelity from his part. It was gathered and alleged that Lanre was dating Opemititi, a young lady, who lives in Abeokuta but comes to Lagos regularly. • #BBNaija: Kemen has been calling me, but i’m not ready to speak with him – Tboss

Former housemate and second runner-up at the Big Brother Naija show, Tboss says fellow housemate, Kemen has been calling her over the sexual assault incident between the duo. TBoss said this on Sunday in an interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu on Rubbing Minds on Channels TV.
Kemen had been disqualified from the show for sexually assaulting TBoss while she was asleep. While speaking on the incident, TBoss said she felt angry, humiliated and violated but decided not to play the victim card. “I considered Kemen a friend. He was my go-to guy. He was my buddy, my muscle. He encouraged me. He motivated me. So for what happened to have happened considering all the people that look up to me, it was sad. I was angry. I was humilated and I did feel violated but I don’t play the victim card. “I honestly think that the decision that Big Brother took was the only decision that could have been taken. And everything that Kemen has to say about that, na him get him mouth, e fit use am talk wetin him wan talk but he knows and we know”. Asked if she has seen him since she came out of the house, TBoss replied “I have seen him a few times but I really don’t want to talk to him because honestly the day you (Ebuka) came into the house with Karen, I was thinking what would happen if I see Kemen because I thought there would be a party after then. I just wanted to slap him. I think I even said that but then I came out and I said you know what everyone can make mistake because I am an attractive person but then, I come out and I hear the interviews he has given, today he makes an apology and then tomorrow he comes out to say TBoss knows what happened and that if there was no N25 million involved, hopefully she would tell the truth. What truth are you talking about? You are contradicting yourself. And then you are calling me? He has called me like over 15-20 times but I don’t want to speak to him. I am not ready because if I talk, I would say the wrong things. I want to calm down”. On AY’s joke, TBoss says “I totally feel it was insensitive of him. It was very insensitive because like I said, I have a lot to say. Everyone who watched the show knows I am a very emotional person and I am very sensitive and this is not something that can be overlooked or joked about. I see the comments. I sneak into my Instagram and see the comments and I am like look, you are a female. This could have happened to you. This probably has happened to you. This incident was on camera. People saw it and people still chose to make light of this situation and make a joke out of it. If I consent to you touching me, that doesn’t mean I consent to you kissing me or going the extra mile. if you do that to me on international tv and someone out there feels it is content for a joke, its unfair. You do not have to have a daughter or a sister or any female that is close to you for you to know that what went down was not ok. You just made a mockery of my emotions and my pain. That was insensitive”. On Reuben Abati’s article, TBoss said “That was sad, that was just sad. Coming from someone of that caliber”. See more photos from her interview with Ebuka:

  • Photos: Nigerian Woman Mercilessly Beaten By Her Husband For Asking Why He Stored Another Lady’s Name As ‘Wife’ On His Phone

As published on Facebook by human right lawyer and activist, Emeka Ugwuonye:

Yesterday, in a hospital in the outskirt of Lagos, a wonderful DPA doctor alerted us in the following message:

“A patient of mine just came with bruises all over her body. Beaten by her husband. …I will send the pictures. She acousted him after she saw his phone ringing and the caller was stored as “wife” she wondered who might be his wife different from him.

She picked the call and informed the caller she is the wife. She also discovered her own number was no longer stored as wife but with a different name from her. She complained of discovering that he sent about 60k to another lady while she and too children are in hunger.”

With that message started a chain of events. The doctor is a wonderful professional. He followed the global best practice in providing treatment to this victim of domestic violence.

Today, before the lady was discharged from the hospital, I made contact with her. We discussed her safety going forward. We discussed her fears about going home to the husband that beat her so badly. DPA had wished that her discharge was delayed till tomorrow to give us more time to find a safe house for her. But her husband had a different plan.

The husband is a leader of a group of touts known as Area Boys in their neighborhood. He led a bunch of violent thugs and he was at the hospital trying to force them to discharge his wife. He had sensed that there was trouble. He was not sure what it was exactly. But he was aware that some people led by one lawyer were trying to get him into trouble. He knew that the longer his wife stayed in the hospital, the more likely he would fall into a trap. So, he was really disturbing the hospital to discharge the lady. The lady was due to be discharge today, anyway. But he wanted that done in the morning and we wanted it done later so that we could do something to him.

In the end, DPA was not ready to take the woman. And the hospital had no choice than to discharge her to her husband by 2pm. I finally spoke to the man. I made it clear to him that I would hold him responsible if anything happens to his wife. Also, I spoke to the woman. She is to call me once every week to assure me she is okay. And I will be sending a DPA probation officer to visit the woman every month to ensure that the man has stopped beating her.

Here are the pictures of the woman and her injuries. We have zero tolerance for domestic violence. If you get to the point of beating your wife, that is the point you declare war against DPA. It is your choice – war or peace. Our goal is to see everybody, every woman safe in her own hous
